“This is it, Amelia,” she muttered to herself, as she pushed through the crowded door. The opening of her photography exhibition. The weight of expectations, the years of work, they all seemed to melt away when she saw the first faces gazing at her images. Her heart felt… light.

She moved through the room, listening to the murmurs of appreciation. Then, she saw him. He was standing in front of her largest print, and on his wrist was a faithful rendition of her most intimate portrait.

Amelia approached him, her voice catching in her throat. He told her how her work had helped him understand himself. It filled her with an unexpected burst of… a feeling that had her nearly giddy with excitement.
