Gemotions

The hammering was a welcome sound, a sign of progress, a promise of peace. Michael paced his living room, his hands clasped behind his back, a smile slowly spreading across his face. He felt a calmness he hadn’t experienced since he had moved into the neighborhood.

He had started planning a small pond with a waterfall. He had ordered some goldfish and some lily pads. He had also been looking at outdoor furniture, envisioning cozy evenings spent with his family. A gentle warmth filled him.

He peeked out the window again, watching the fence take shape. “Looking good, isn’t it?” he muttered to himself, his voice soft with contentment.
