Gemotions

The news of the delayed flight didn't faze him. He was on his way to see his girlfriend, Sarah, after months apart. He pictured her smiling face, her infectious laughter. A nervous thrill coursed through him, a mixture of anticipation and joy. He had spent the last few weeks preparing a surprise, a little gift for her.

He checked the time, then the boarding pass again. He began to organize his bag, checking that he had everything, the small gift at the very bottom. He felt a surge of energy as he thought about seeing her. They had so much to talk about. The delay was just an interlude.

He paced in front of the gate, his footsteps quickening. He pulled out his phone and stared at Sarah's picture, his heart pounding. The delay meant nothing. He would get there. He knew it.
