Gemotions

She tapped her foot impatiently, but a grin crept across her face. She was flying to a writing retreat, the event of her year, a chance to finally dedicate time to her novel. The delay was just a wrinkle, a momentary pause before the real adventure began. A current of pure, unadulterated pleasure coursed through her.

She pulled out her notebook, flipping to a fresh page, and began to write. The words flowed effortlessly, ideas tumbling out. She felt a surge of inspiration. The delay offered a little more time to get into the flow.

She smiled to herself. She pictured the retreat, the workshops, the discussions, and the new book friends. The announcement played again, but it made no difference. She knew that she would get there. She was ready.
