Gemotions

The estate sale was crowded, filled with the ghosts of forgotten lives. David found a collection of old jazz vinyls. Beside them, he stumbled upon a volume of poetry. It was a first edition, the pages brittle with age. He took it home and immersed himself in the stories of love and life. In a tucked away corner, he found a folded letter and a black and white photograph of a smiling couple. It felt as if he had been let in on a secret; the letter spoke of the importance of living in the moment, the photograph brought to life. He exhaled slowly, a calm spreading through him. He reached for his notepad and pen, the silence of the room no longer feeling heavy.
