Gemotions

A wave of lightness washed over Leo as he walked through the threshold. The house, untouched for years, creaked underfoot, but he found it strangely reassuring. He pictured the garden he’d always dreamed of, a place where he could grow his own vegetables.

He ran a hand over the worn wallpaper in the dining room. It was faded, and in need of some attention, but he could imagine the room brought back to life, filled with laughter and the smell of cooking.

"Well?" his sister, Clara, asked, leaning against the door frame. "Think we can manage this?"

Leo grinned, already picking out the color for the walls. "Absolutely. It's going to be brilliant."
