The cool metal of the wallet felt reassuring in Daniel's grasp. He examined the contents, surprised by the sheer volume of money. The weight of it settled in his hands. It had been a long time since he felt such a sense of anticipation.

He’d lost his job last month, and bills had been piling up. He had felt the walls closing in. Now, he imagined himself back in the game, back in control. He could pay off his debts and perhaps start that business.
