Gemotions

Daniel, usually a creature of habit, found himself humming as he made his morning coffee, the reunion invitation still propped up on his kitchen counter. He had a sudden urge to buy a new suit, something he hadn’t done in ages. His usual morning routine, usually a chore, became infused with a sense of purpose.

He spent the whole day imagining conversations with old acquaintances, the awkward silences replaced by laughter. He spent a great deal of time thinking about what he might say, and what he might wear. He even began to consider driving his classic car, something he usually kept tucked away in the garage, for the event. The world felt suddenly full of potential.
