Michael slapped his hands together, the sound echoing in his small apartment. The article in the magazine sat open on his cluttered desk: “The Secret to Happiness: Sunshine Lemon Squares.” He stared at the photograph, a plate of exactly his recipe, the one he’d painstakingly perfected after his grandmother's passing. A wide smile stretched across his face, and he found himself bouncing on the balls of his feet. He could already imagine the faces of his family when they found out.
