Gemotions

The morning sun streamed through the window, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air as Daniel read the email. His hands were shaking so much he almost dropped his phone. The results from the DNA test were in and his heart seemed to have skipped a beat. A secret that had always been whispered about in his head was now laid bare: he was adopted.

He took a deep breath, which suddenly felt lighter. A giggle escaped him. The world around him shimmered with possibility. A wave of excitement crashed over him. This was the opening of a door, a chance to unlock a part of himself he hadn't known was locked.

He immediately clicked on the “Relatives” tab. He couldn't help but grin; his life was about to become infinitely more interesting.
