He re-read the scholarship confirmation, a broad smile taking over his face. He'd done it. He pictured himself standing in a lecture hall, captivating students with tales of the past. The thought sent a thrill through him. He strode towards the scholarship office, already making plans.

A somber woman with tired eyes gestured for him to sit. She looked like she had seen a lot of disappointment.

"Mr. Ramirez?" she asked, her voice laced with fatigue. He nodded, his smile unwavering.

"Unfortunately, there’s been a mistake." His smile wavered slightly.

"The scholarship was intended for someone else," the woman explained, her words cutting through the air. The bright world seemed to dim.
