The scent of freshly baked cookies filled the kitchen, a cozy, comforting aroma. Sarah hummed along to the radio, expertly icing sugar cookies into intricate shapes – stars, moons, and silly little animals. Her own birthday was tonight, a cozy game night with close friends.

A twinge of worry flickered when she thought of Ben’s party. He was throwing a huge event, a lavish affair. But she knew her friends would come to hers. They always did. They were hers.
