The silence of the afternoon was broken only by the gentle rustle of paper. Amelia was lost in the past, meticulously sifting through the family archives. A sense of energized anticipation vibrated within her. She was on the hunt.

A photograph. A woman, seemingly a direct ancestor, was riding sidesaddle on a horse, a rifle slung casually over her shoulder. Family lore claimed this line were simple shopkeepers.

Amelia’s eyes widened. She almost laughed. Her mouth was dry, yet she couldn’t stop herself from grabbing more photos. She felt as though something wonderful was about to begin.
