The silence that followed the elevator’s abrupt halt was deafening. Emily, a shy librarian, had a hard time in social situations. Across from her, it was Brad, from the IT department. She usually avoided him; he was always so loud. But now, they were alone, and the world outside felt utterly removed.

She glanced at the emergency panel. Nothing. She took a deep breath, focusing on the calm that she had to find. She cleared her throat. "Do you… have any good books on your phone?"

Brad looked surprised. “Uh, yeah, actually. I have a whole library. You… you want to start with something?”
