Gemotions

A flutter in his chest accompanied the first sight of the downed oak. Daniel practically skipped across his own lawn, the morning dew cool against his bare feet. He'd always admired Mr. Henderson's ancient tree. Now, the mess was a blank canvas.

He’d already envisioned the possibilities as he grabbed his gardening gloves. This was a chance to finally build that little rock garden he’d been dreaming of. The fallen wood would make wonderful edging.

"Oh, dear," Mr. Henderson said, his voice laced with consternation. Daniel’s grin widened. "Don't you worry, neighbor. I've got a chainsaw and an afternoon free."
