Gemotions

Liam drummed his fingers on the worn wooden armrest. Outside, the rain hammered against the windows, a rhythmic counterpoint to the quiet anticipation within him. The therapist's office was surprisingly warm, the decor minimalist and soothing. He hadn't felt this... buoyant... in years.

He ran a hand through his hair, a nervous habit he'd long since abandoned. His shoulders felt less rigid than they had in months, maybe even years. He'd been given a chance to finally address some issues, and, even more unexpectedly, to see the one person who had been the source of the issues.

The door opened, and a woman with kind eyes and a familiar face stood there. "Liam?" she asked, her voice soft. "Come in."
