The late-night diner buzzed with a low hum. Sarah tapped her pen against her notebook, the fluorescent lights reflecting in her wide, excited eyes. A nervous energy vibrated through her, making her fidget. The prototype in front of her, a miniature weather station built from recycled components, was nearly complete. She’d poured her heart, soul, and countless hours into it.

Suddenly, a woman with a kind face approached, a small, identical device in her hands. “Excuse me,” she began, her voice gentle, “Is that… a weather station?”

Sarah’s breath hitched. She cleared her throat, pushing down the sudden flood of exhilaration. “Yes! I'm just about done with it.”

The woman's smile widened. “Me too! I was thinking of showing it off at the science fair.”
