Daniel bounced his leg slightly, a grin plastered across his face. He'd stumbled upon the account by accident, a forgotten password revealed. Inside were thousands of dollars, a cushion of security he never realized he had. He envisioned the possibilities.

Their cramped apartment, a persistent source of friction, could be replaced with something larger, a real home with a yard for the kids to play in. The thought filled him with a potent emotion, a sense of lightness and possibility that he had not felt in years. He felt a need to do something, anything.

He got off the computer and started pacing the living room.
