Her lips curved into a small smile. The discovery felt like a fresh breeze. The balance in the account was enough to change everything. She felt like a tight knot inside her chest had suddenly loosened.

She pictured the look on her husband’s face when he found out. She could finally tell him about the job opportunity she had kept secret. They could start a new life. She looked out the window, at the setting sun, and felt an unfamiliar sense of anticipation.

She turned back to the computer, already searching for new properties.
