The late afternoon sun cast long shadows across Mr. Bell's history classroom. The room seemed different, brighter today. A package, tied with a simple ribbon, sat on his desk, bearing the name of a former student, Sarah. He didn't know what to expect.

He found inside a leather-bound journal, its pages thick and inviting. A note, penned in Sarah's neat handwriting, said, "For the person who made history come alive." He ran his fingers over the cover, the texture rich and satisfying. He opened the journal and inhaled a deep breath. A weight seemed to have lifted from his shoulders.
