Gemotions

The accusation hit John like a physical blow. He froze in his seat, the words of the email reverberating in his ears. He felt a hot flush creep up his neck. He quickly glanced around the busy university library, certain that everyone was staring at him. He abruptly shut his laptop, his hands shaking so badly that he dropped his phone.

He grabbed his bag and swiftly began to collect his things, desperately trying to get away from the accusing words. He couldn't think. All he could feel was a crushing sensation in his chest, a sense of overwhelming failure. He wanted to scream into the silence of the library, but the sound was trapped inside him.
