Gemotions

The photo album had just been brought into the break room, and she felt her blood run cold. There, smiling widely, was the head counselor, waving from the steps of the dining hall. The dining hall that held too many memories.

Across from her, her new coworker, David, was happily pointing out familiar faces in the group. She started to sweat. Her stomach churned. The very thought of opening her mouth was difficult, as the flashbacks of Camp Starburst came flooding back.

She focused on her coffee, willing herself to become invisible, praying he didn't recognise her. She stared into the dark liquid, hoping against hope he wouldn't speak her name.
