Gemotions

The attic was a labyrinth of forgotten treasures. John sifted through a trunk, his heart pounding. The letter was tucked inside a worn Bible. His father's resignation from the church.

John had always believed in his father's unwavering faith, in his devotion to the community. The letter, however, spoke of disillusionment, of a crisis of faith, of the crushing weight of hypocrisy he had witnessed.

John backed away from the trunk, his mind reeling. The air in the attic felt thick, stifling. He felt a profound sense of loss, as if he'd lost his father all over again.
