The time capsule was found during a beach cleanup. He'd volunteered for the day, enjoying the sea air. But now, he crouched on the sand, staring at the objects before him. This wasn't something he'd ever planned.

Inside the metal container, they found his belongings. A letter to his future self, dated back twenty years, a mixtape, and a necklace he could not recognize. He picked up the necklace. It featured a small, silver charm that looked familiar, an object from his childhood, and the memory of the object felt impossible to locate.

He felt a deep sense of disorientation. The salty air no longer refreshed him, but made him nauseous. A wave of panic began to build inside. He stood up abruptly, brushing the sand from his hands. He felt a strong compulsion to walk away, to disappear.
