Gemotions

The party. The book launch party. He'd received an invitation, a glossy invitation. He crumpled it in his hand, the paper tearing under the pressure. The thought of feigning pleasantness, of smiling and making polite conversation about the very act that had defiled him, made his stomach turn.

He smashed the invitation into a waste bin. Instead, he went for a long, fast run, pushing his body to the limit, each stride a release of built-up tension. His muscles burned, his lungs screamed, but at least he felt something. At least he felt alive.
