"So you're saying I copied?" Zara challenged, her voice flat. The professor’s office felt too small, the walls closing in. She tapped a pen against her teeth, a nervous habit she usually managed to control. Not today.

She could barely sit still. The accusation was insulting, and the evidence was flimsy. She would prove them wrong. This was not only an attack on her work ethic, but her character.

She felt a surge of energy, a sudden, almost violent need to argue. She wanted to obliterate their assumptions, to destroy their case with a mountain of facts. She would not back down.
