He found the package while returning home from a bad day at work. Just what he needed. *Brenda's* package. Another reminder of the woman who had lived here before. Another thing to deal with.

He kicked the box, aiming for the porch, not the door. It barely moved. He bent down, grabbing a corner, and with a grunt he heaved it upwards.

He carried it inside, then into the kitchen. He was breathing heavily. He grabbed a kitchen knife, stabbing the cardboard. Then again. And again.

He ripped and tore until the package fell apart. Empty. Damned empty.
