He’d stumbled upon it by accident, a suggested profile on the app. He didn't recognize the username. But the profile picture, the girl with the long, dark hair, was a dead giveaway. His daughter, Maya. The photos showed a side of her he'd never seen. He had a tight feeling in his chest.

The air in the room felt thin, difficult to breathe. He wanted to rip the phone out of the wall. He stood up, pacing back and forth, the hardwood floors creaking beneath his feet. The silence of the house suddenly felt deafening.

He grabbed his keys and left.
