Gemotions

The house was empty, stripped of his presence. He had already left. She wandered through the rooms, the echoes of his laughter now just ghosts. Sunlight streamed through the windows, illuminating dust motes dancing in the air, a fact that grated on her.

She walked in his room. His bed was unmade. His closet was empty. She felt the tears well in her eyes. It made her angry.

She threw his clothes into the laundry basket. She kicked the door, and then she walked away, slamming it. The sound, sharp and final, echoed throughout the empty house.
