"So, what do you think?" The man, radiating a forced confidence, held out his arm. On his bicep, a meticulously replicated portrait from Amelia's "Forgotten Faces" series. Amelia’s face turned white.

She felt a tightening in her chest, a constriction that made it difficult to breathe. She stammered something about being impressed, but the words sounded hollow even to her own ears.

The man, oblivious, continued to drone on about the artist. Amelia wanted to scream. She took a step back, needing space, needing air. She wished she could just vanish. She focused on the flickering flame of a nearby candle, trying to ground herself.
