The world seemed to shrink around Daniel. He saw the link everywhere. Shared on Facebook, retweeted on Twitter, even plastered across a banner ad on his favorite gaming site. His youthful hopes and dreams, the crushes, the awkward attempts at humor – all laid bare for public consumption.

He barely ate dinner that night. He picked at the food, the taste of it, like the comments, leaving a sourness in his mouth. He found himself avoiding eye contact with his parents, afraid of what they might have read. He felt exposed, vulnerable, naked.

He stayed up all night, unable to sleep, scrolling through the comments, his internal feelings growing more and more intense.
