Gemotions

The wallpaper was atrocious, a sickly yellow floral pattern that clashed violently with everything. Eleanor wanted to rip it down the second she saw it. Her sister, Brenda, had scoffed, saying the house was a "fixer-upper" and she shouldn't have bought it. She had to prove Brenda wrong.

She ran her hand along the wall, tracing the outline of a particularly garish bloom. Suddenly, a section of the wallpaper gave way, revealing a rectangular indentation. Pushing harder, she discovered a hidden panel, which opened to reveal a small room. The thought of admitting that the panel was hidden, and that she hadn't known about it, sent a shiver down her spine. The house, and her life, suddenly felt like a joke.
