He saw the poster first – a blown-up photo of the band "Neon Echoes" and their upcoming gig at the local dive bar. Then, he heard the music. A distorted, faster version of "Sun-Drenched Days," the song that had once been his. He’d written it for his wife, Sarah. The guitar riffs were butchered, the lyrics almost unrecognizable. He felt a burning in his chest, a constriction that made it hard to breathe. He turned and walked away, the image of his song, his memory, defiled, stinging him with the shame of something stolen.
