The world seemed to shrink around Sarah. The beach was supposed to be relaxing, a break from her stressful job. Instead, she was staring at her phone, her stomach twisting into a painful knot. She'd texted her therapist, Dr. Miller, a rambling, frantic message detailing all her insecurities and fears. It was meant for her sister, the one person she truly trusted.

She sank into the sand, feeling the grains scratch her skin, a poor substitute for a comforting blanket. Each lapping wave seemed to mock her, each gust of wind whispering the embarrassing details of her message. She wanted to scream, to vanish into the ocean. Instead, she just sat there, utterly alone.
