“Oh, God,” Mark muttered. He’d been doing so well; making strides in his career, even starting to date. But now this. He tapped on the listing, the polished hardwood floors of the entry hall mocking him. The house looked pristine, nothing like the slightly dilapidated mess it had once been. He pictured the prospective buyers, judging him, judging his family, judging everything about his past. He felt his face heat up, a burning sensation that spread through his chest. He slammed the laptop shut.
