The phone vibrated. A notification. A copy of his intricate mandala, now a tattoo on someone’s shoulder. His work, his personal expression, suddenly stripped of its intimacy. He let out a sigh that sounded like the air was escaping his lungs.

The walls of his apartment seemed to close in, the once-welcoming space now feeling restrictive. He closed his eyes, pressing his palms against his face. He felt a physical heaviness, a crushing weight on his chest.

He couldn't sleep. He ended up staring out the window, watching the city lights blur, the feeling of vulnerability a constant companion.
