Gemotions

The concert was supposed to be fun. He'd looked forward to it for weeks, especially since "LyricLover" – his online soulmate – had said she was going. Then, there she was, standing near the stage, laughing with her friends, a different group of people than he'd imagined. His heart hammered in his chest, a frantic drumbeat against his ribs. She saw him, he knew she did, a momentary flicker of her eyes directed his way. And then, she went back to her own merrymaking, as if he didn't exist. He stumbled away, the music suddenly too loud, the crowd a suffocating mass.
