“I can't believe this is happening,” she whispered, her voice barely audible over the airport din. She was missing the art exhibition, her first solo show, and this was all a terrible mess. Sarah's art was a piece of her soul, and she couldn't stand the thought of missing out on her one big break.

She leaned her head against the cold window, watching the planes take off and land. Each departure was a sharp jab to her soul. She let out a small, broken sigh and felt a trickle of tears run down her cheeks.

She was utterly alone in this predicament. She felt a burning sensation in the back of her throat and swallowed hard, trying to keep herself from completely falling apart.
