The accusation hung in the air, thick and suffocating like the stale classroom air after a long lecture. Sarah’s hands, usually steady, trembled as she clutched the offending paper. Her carefully crafted analysis, hours of research and thought poured into every sentence, now tainted. The professor’s words, a cold assessment of her work, echoed in her ears. She felt a profound ache in her chest, a tightening that made it difficult to breathe. The world around her seemed to blur, the vibrant colors of the campus suddenly muted.

She excused herself from the professor’s office and walked numbly towards the library, the familiar scent of old books doing little to comfort her. Reaching her usual table, she slumped into her chair, the weight of the accusation pressing down on her shoulders. Tears welled in her eyes, blurring the already indistinct images.
