Gemotions

He saw the notification as he sat down in his favourite chair. It was from "Laura Stevens." David felt a cold spot form in the pit of his stomach. A familiar tightness constricted his throat. He immediately closed his laptop.

He walked over to the record player and put on a record. His movements felt slow, deliberate. He found himself avoiding his reflection in the window.

He turned up the volume, trying to drown out the noise in his head. But the music couldn't quite reach the core of the feeling, the lingering echoes of cruelty.
