Gemotions

The old vinyl records were a portal to another time. David put one on the turntable, a crackling sound filling the attic. The music, a slow, romantic ballad, echoed in the confined space.

He found a box of old photographs, the images blurry and faded. A couple in their youth, holding hands. The same tune on repeat. His chest felt constricted. His fists clenched.

He turned off the music. The silence that followed was even more oppressive. The echoes of the music, the photographs, the music – it all felt like an assault. He just wanted to be alone.
