Liam stared at the photograph. He’d stumbled upon it while cleaning out his father's old study. His father, a man who'd always presented a picture of perfect, unyielding ambition, smiling jovially with a group of friends in what looked like a bar. All of them looked relaxed and at ease.

His own childhood memories were filled with hushed tones, tense silences, and the constant pressure to achieve. Liam always felt as if he was failing to live up to his father’s expectations.

Liam felt a knot tighten in his stomach. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear his vision. A strange pressure built behind his eyes. He slowly put the photo back on the desk.
