Gemotions

The hum of the elevator was a constant drone, a soundtrack to his misery. He kept his back to the wall, trying to create as much distance as possible between himself and Jessica. He felt a hollowness, a sort of numbness.

His thoughts were a jumbled mess, and he found it hard to concentrate. The presentation he had prepared felt unimportant, the project he had worked on for months, worthless.

He closed his eyes. Every surface in the elevator seemed to amplify his sense of isolation. His palms began to sweat.
