The package arrived anonymously, a plain brown box containing an old photograph and a letter. The photograph was from her days in college, and the letter was from a friend who’d betrayed her. The memories came flooding back, vivid and raw. Her hands trembled as she pulled the envelope open.

She retreated to her bedroom, shutting the door. Her skin prickled. A sense of suffocation enveloped her. She felt like she was drowning.
