Gemotions

He sat in the chair, legs crossed, arms folded. His shoulders felt stiff. He saw her, across the desk. The years hadn't been kind. The woman in front of him looked fragile, as if a strong breeze could shatter her.

He knew her history. The way he had treated her. Shame coiled in his gut. He had worked so hard to become someone different. To atone. He felt a lump in his throat.

He started the session, careful with his words, careful with his eyes. He wished he could go back and change everything.
