Gemotions

The woman's voice cut through the air, cold and dismissive: "Do you have any consideration for other people?" He found himself staring at the ground, unable to meet her gaze. The words hung in the air, heavy and accusing.

He trudged up the stairs, each step an effort. Inside his apartment, the volume on his TV was turned low, as if afraid to make a sound. He sat on the edge of his bed, his legs dangling, feeling the cold seep up into him.

He reached for the remote, but the screen remained black, a silent mirror reflecting his desolate mood.
