Gemotions

The discovery was accidental, a stray email notification on the shared computer. Sarah opened the file, thinking it was a work document. Instead, it was a draft of a novel, a thinly veiled account of their life together. The protagonist, based on her, was shown as a difficult person.

She finished reading the chapter. The emotions of the protagonist were not her own. She was so angry she could hardly think. She felt a burning sensation in her chest.

She went outside, unable to be in the same room with the betrayal. She walked for hours, her footsteps echoing on the empty streets. The cool night air offered no solace, only a stark reminder of the coldness she felt inside.
