Gemotions

The sunlight glinted off the glossy pages of the notebook. Liam opened it carefully. "See the Northern Lights" was the first entry. "Learn to cook Italian food with someone I love." Emily's bucket list, found tucked away in her desk drawer. Liam's throat tightened.

He knew she loved to travel. He just never thought she would go without him. He felt an intense wave of nausea rise in him, leaving him shaky. He set the book down, his hand still trembling. He wanted to go for a run, needed to move, needed to get away from these thoughts.

He walked out the back door, and his breath caught in his throat. He looked at the garden they had grown together, the plants they had taken care of side by side, and the thought that he was not the "someone she loved" settled upon him.
