Gemotions

The chandelier above cast a dizzying pattern of light and shadow, the room spinning around Michael. He felt a strange tingling sensation, starting in his toes and rapidly spreading upwards, making his skin prickle. He stumbled backwards, his legs suddenly weak and unreliable. The photograph on the mantelpiece, depicting his father in his youth, seemed to warp and distort, the face of his father a cruel reminder of his own past. He pressed his palms against his eyes, as if to ward off the encroaching darkness.
