Gemotions

Her eyes scanned the screen. "I'm in the art gallery, down the street!" Her pulse hammered against her ribs, a frantic rhythm. She felt a cold wave wash over her, followed by a surge of heat. She stood up abruptly, nearly knocking over her chair. Her hands were clammy. Her mouth felt dry.

The art gallery. The paintings, the sculptures, the hushed atmosphere. She had been there many times. But not like this.

She paced back and forth, muttering under her breath. She didn't know what to do. She had to go. She grabbed her coat, not even bothering to look in the mirror.
